Case Study 3

MedInsight VBC Contracts

MedInsight Value-Based Care (VBC) Contracts is a new product that gives ACOs visibility into their projected shared savings/losses for the performance year across various risk contracts. I started out as the UX Designer and then became the Product Manager prior to the launch of v1.0.0.

Timeframe:
Dec 2022 - Present

overview

Product

MedInsight VBC Contracts provides ACO's, health systems, and independent physician associations (IPAs) with a full view of their financial performance across different types of VBC agreements. Interactive dashboards enable users to accurately model the potential success of each contract, set individual targets, and monitor their progress over time.

Problem

CFOs and financial data analysts face a significant challenge in gaining a complete overview of their risk contracts' performance for a given year. This lack of visibility makes it difficult to monitor costs and understand if they are going to achieve shared savings at the end of the performance year. Additionally, they lack insight into how their risk units are performing within a given contract.

Goal

Our goal is to offer complete visibility into the ACO's financial performance for the performance year. This includes the ability to analyze projected shared savings and losses across all contracts, as well as to dig deeper into the performance of each individual risk unit. By doing so, we aim to provide a comprehensive understanding of the ACO's financial situation, which can then be used to identify areas for improvement and develop strategies for maximizing shared savings.

Responsibilities

As the UX Designer, I am responsible for conducting interviews, paper and digital wireframing, low and high-fidelity prototyping, conducting usability studies, accounting for accessibility, and iterating on designs.
I am also the Product Manager for this product which requires me to set priorities and requirements, create roadmaps, collaborate with various teams, and communicate with stakeholders.
